The Cinderbeards are a group of historians based in Korrah, as well as the keepers of the Plane of Fire.
Appearance[]
The Cinderbeards are often adorned by tattoos with ink infused with an elemental heart of fire. The males have long beards of magma and soot, while the females had shaved bald heads.

Time of Peace[]
During the period of peace between the world and before the rise of the dragons, the leader at the time, Igneous Sato received a vision from Sarenrae depicting the dragon, Grimwing plotting the world's demise. Igneous sent ravens to each of the world's leaders giving them a warning, some believed him and some did not.
The Dragon Wars (1,444-1450)[]
At the start of the Dragon Wars, Igneous Sato received another warning from the Great Lioness, which depicted Grimwing attempting to steal the Cinderbeard's eternal spark, an inextinguishable flame that contained the power of the Nine Hells. In fear of Grimwing having the Necromancy Shard and the Eternal Spark, Igneous fled with it back to the Plane of Fire and sealed the portal between realms. Since then, Igenous has not returned.
